Tyrus wrestler: Wife, children, weight and net worth

Tyrus: From Wrestling Star to TV Personality, and the Woman Behind His Success

Tyrus, the 51-year-old former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, is known for his tough persona in the wrestling ring and his charismatic presence on Fox News and Gutfeld!. But his journey to fame is one of resilience and transformation.

A Challenging Start
Born George Murdoch in 1973, Tyrus faced a turbulent childhood. Raised by teen parents and later abandoned by an abusive father, he and his brother were rejected by their grandparents due to their mixed-race background, landing them in foster care. Struggling with identity, Tyrus once wished to change his skin color to reunite with his family.

Eventually, they returned to their mother, who worked tirelessly to provide for them. However, conflict with a stepfather led a 15-year-old Tyrus to leave home, spending nights in his school’s locker room.

Salvation Through Sports
Football became his lifeline, providing him with mentors, discipline, and a path to college. He played for Antelope Valley College and later the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), where he excelled on the Lopers football team. Despite financial struggles, Tyrus earned a degree in physical education.

From Bar Bouncer to Wrestling Star
After brief NFL tryouts and a ruptured appendix, Tyrus worked as a substitute teacher and nightclub bouncer. His life changed when wrestler Tommy Dreamer noticed his charisma during a bar fight and suggested he try wrestling.

Tyrus debuted in 2006 as Brodus Clay and later gained fame as The Funkasaurus. By 2014, he joined TNA Wrestling as Tyrus, captivating fans with his larger-than-life persona.

A New Chapter: TV Personality
Tyrus’s bold personality caught the attention of Gutfeld! host Greg Gutfeld, leading to a guest appearance in 2016. His wit and candid opinions made him a regular on Fox News shows like Fox & Friends and The Daily Briefing. He also ventured into acting, appearing in The Purge and MacGyver.

In 2022, Tyrus published his bestselling memoir Just Tyrus, followed by Nuff Said in 2023.

The Woman Behind Tyrus
On January 7, 2024, Tyrus married longtime partner Ingrid Rinck Herbert, an entrepreneur and fitness trainer. Ingrid, the founder of The Rinck Routine and Sensible Meals, has been a pillar of support in his life, helping him maintain balance amid his demanding career.

Tyrus’s journey from a turbulent childhood to a multi-faceted career is a testament to resilience, hard work, and the power of finding purpose through adversity.
